He spoke favorably of the many steps needed to attain zoning on some previously non standard methods such as rain water catchment and solar electric and solar water installs.
I asked him about valuation and getting mortgages for potential buyers. Here he was a bit disappointed
Since there are not many Green built homes in his area appraisers are reluctant to value the increased energy savings offered by the sustainable building practices he is pursuing since they have no comps to compare to.
The appraisers agree with him that the Green additions are worthwhile and should some day offer an increase in value but they are unable to apply that increase currently
