Since sales of all cars are tough now and since gas is reasonably priced(compared to 2 years past), now is perhaps the time to buy a used or new hybrid vehicle.
The problem with total electric cars for those who commute quite a bit and cannot use public transport is the range of the EV's(electric vehicles) is limited. A hybrid allows one to drive from LA to Miami without headache and still be economical on gas use.
Hybrids have been out long enough that parts are easy to find as are dealerships that can repair the car if you are far from your home on a long trip
