Green Cosmetics for Women - A Sustain U by Conserv-A-Store series to Help Women be All they Want to Be

This article addresses Green Cosmetics and how you need to do your homework to choose the right product for your body

Many beauty products self-label as natural, organic, green, Eco-friendly and so on, but what does it really mean? Are you aware of the components of what you put in your body when you use beauty products?

Green Cosmetics or Eco-friendly makeup are cosmetics that are manufactured
using all-natural, non-toxic ingredients. Some of those ingredients include products made from plants and oils, natural occurring minerals, non-toxic dyes and natural ingredients such as beeswax and Shea butter.

Products made from plant extracts include chamomile, rosewater, apple cider, Aloe Vera, coconut oil and powder. Others contain  Butter, rose hips, mica, lemon, coffee and carrot. If natural ingredients are important to you, we recommend reading the labels to make sure the cosmetics you use does not contain synthetic chemicals. Some cosmetics may be a mixture of both.

An organic cosmetic is supposed to contain only plant-sourced ingredients that are grown without the use of any pesticides or chemicals. However, there is not regulation or known certification that guarantee that  a cosmetic is indeed organic. Unlike Food, which is regulated and certified organic by the Food and Drug Administration FDA.

I found some DIY all-natural makeups recipes videos. I can't guarantee they work but certainly the fact that you can make your one makeup with ingredients you already have in your pantry is more attractive than spending you hard earned money on regular makeup, and also you can put in motion your green lifestyle.

In Conserv-A-Store, we do not sell green cosmetics however, part of our mission is to educate the public about ways to help the environment and lead an Eco-friendly lifestyle. We went ahead and did some research on the web of green cosmetics and these are some articles and websites about green cosmetics on the market:
