Quick Green Update-Pope Francis should be named "Francis the Green"

Pope Francis has taken the lead in the world's Green movement with his forward thinking speech about global consciousness in regards to climate change and other environmentals concerns.

In his 150 encyclical, Pope Francis was very adamant on countries being more concerned with how they are taking care of the Earth they are living in. He refers to climate change as a "global problem with grave implications: environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods.”

In his speech, he conjoined the plight of the poor with how their lives can be made more  tormented due to climate change and then mentions that man's greed and over consumption are contributory to these climatic changes.

Like many of those who believe earth friendly alternatives to everyday living, Pope Francis understands how limited natural resources are in a world of pollution and excessive use.

"The idea of infinite or unlimited growth, which proves so attractive to economists, financiers and experts in technology ... is based on the lie that there is an infinite supply of the earth's goods, and this leads to the planet being squeezed dry at every limit."

In many ways the Pope's views published before COP21 in Paris in December 2015 put some pressure on many countries to strongly consider participating and agreeing with Climate Change proposals put forth at COP21. We thank the Pope for that

We generally agree with what we understand to have been written in the encyclical but we do disagree with the Catholic church's trouble with addressing human population growth.
Eventually the world will need to find how to power the world economy with zero human population growth . It can be done with no upset in people's comfort. We just do not hear many leaders religious or other speak of this
