Toilets are a little technical...

How Technical?

Well toilets can be quite technical if you think about it for a second. We've posted previous informational post about toilets and what you should be looking for; what we want to reiterate is how much a toilet can change in your bathroom. If you are just looking to update or full out impress the crowd, a change in toilet can make a big difference in a big way. Your guest may not say anything to you, but after they do their... business... they will notice how much effort you put into your toilet choice.
Just imagine, have you ever been a really high class hotel and went into the bathroom. The bathrooms are usually glass this, high ceilings this, chrome that, and white this - well someone took the time to make the aesthetics of that bathroom impress you. Even down to the porcelain throne.

So let's get down to the nitty gritty: Let's talk toilet!

WaterSense

To be WaterSense Certified means there's an important certification on your toilet. They make it a responsibility to protect water. "Earth may be known as the "water planet" but even though about 70 percent of its surface is covered by water, less than 1 percent is available for human use. Water supplieess are finite, and we can all protect this critical and precious resource." Straight from the USA EPA - they believe in conserving water. One way to do that is through less use of a toilet.
What the WaterSense label actually mean? Well if you ever see a product with a WaterSense Label is means that this product has been independently certified to perform well, help save water, energy, and money. The EPA also encourages innovative manufacturing and encouraging the spread of water saving knowledge. They make it easy to purchase high-performing and water efficient products on the market. 1. Today's new WaterSense High-Efficiency Toilets (HETs) outperform the older 3.5 and 5.0 gallon toilets by a large margin! After all, when it comes right down to it, you want a toilet that 'does the job' as well as saves water. The U.S. EPA's WaterSense program is designed specifically to do that. Go to the website http://www.map-testing.com to learn about the flush performance of over 2,900 different WaterSense toilet models from over 100 different brands! All of these models were INDEPENDENTLY TESTED by laboratories NOT connected to any manufacturer. Click on ‘MaP Search’ to use the free search tool OR download complete product listings.

MaP development was sponsored by PUBLIC WATER UTILITIES IN THE U.S. AND CANADA in 2003 to give consumers a means to compare actual flush performance among all the many toilet models available in the marketplace. All of this is FREE. MaP does NOT sell toilets...it merely has them tested and reports the results to the public free-of-charge.
